Overview:
I absolutely LOVE LOVE teaching the art of music appreciation from various styles and students learning interests. My teaching style is an extremely fun Positive hands on learning approach to music. The music lessons are catered to the students musical preferences of genre/style. In Voice, we focus on the Italian "Belle Canto Method" to help enhance, grow and smoothen the students natural voice learning the proper vocal positioning/exercises to be able to sing in any musical style they love. In Piano, we focus on the basic classical foundation the keyboard including scale exercises, various forms/styles of songs to further strengthen and enhance the students musical playing abilities as well as note reading comprehension in a fun way. Every student is an adventure and a learning experience to treasure for me.
EXPERIENCE
"Music Is A Never Ending Journey" I grew up studying and performing music since I could open my mouth to try singing and move my fingers to explore the piano, while watching my mother perform professionally or jam with family singalongs. As I went through all my school and university years, my heart would only yearn for a musical career teaching and performing with children, musicians, guest artists and families with special needs as well. I currently, and have been for the past 15+ years, a part time music teacher and performer while also truly grasping what It is to be a parent and applying these experiences to my daily teaching lessons. Every student from all ages, learning abilities, cultures and walks of life teach me the best way to try to captivate their musical interests and help further enhance their inner goals.

Music is a form of therapy for so many people. My speciality is to teach music in such an enjoyable, positive and creative way that the students learn to excel in their own paces and musical styles. I teach the basic classical foundation of scale exercises with both instruments, the piano & the voice.
LESSON STYLE
I am a very patient and understanding person teaching all ages, learning styles/abilities and cultures. What the students love is crucial in order to capture that magic to incorporate into the weekly lesson plans. I also specialize in have following extra areas: Special needs (creative music art), "Princess/Pirate Music" (youngsters), Coach Music as a natural form of alleviating some social emotional problems for some students...in other words making daily stresses seem not so big after a refreshing music class for most, lol!

Ms. Ofelia has a wonderful personality, well-suited for teaching anyone - especially youngsters. My 5 year old daughter gets physically excited before class even starts. That says a lot! More often than not, young children tend to find music classes boring and it's quite difficult to get them to engage. This has not been the case. Ms. Ofelia allows my daughter the freedom to express herself (as a 5 year old), while guiding her lovingly through the process of learning music and notes.
