I have been performing professionally for more than a decade till I migrated here in the US. I ran my own voice coaching clinic in Malaysia for 5 years and have had a long list of successful students during my coaching service. I did a graduate certificate in Vocal Pedagogy at Rider University and Voice Specialist Certificate at Berklee College of Music. Singing and Voice Coaching is a passion...I care greatly for my students and their love for singing. I treat my students' musical goals as my own.
I tailor my coaching approach to my student's needs. If the focus is on exams and recitals, I use Berklee and Tring Syllabus. I do focus more on skills: developing the Voice (developing a belted voice, head voice, or whatever is needed) and Performance, unless Music theory is requested. I start my students with standard songs, classical, Broadway, (unless a specific genre is requested) but expose my students to different genres and help them find the strength and uniqueness of their own voice. It’s my mission to help them access the scope of their voices so they can express themselves better.
I keep my sessions fun, but focused and professional. My satisfaction as a teacher is seeing my students spread their wings even after my tutelage. The skills that my students worked on together is something that cannot be taken away from them...if they take care, the skills will be there for life, and the knowledge is there forever. I take my student's goals as my own. I'm also a certified life coach, so I'm passionate about everything I do. I don't let my students come out of the sessions without learning something new.
