I am a Music Instructor piano and Cello. I am playing in several orchestra such as Garden State philharmonic, westchester Symphony, Adelphi Orchestra. Also Chamber music group which name is All that Cello. I have 18 years of experience teaching and 30 years experience of playing in orchestra. I have worked as a Junior Orchestra instructor at KCC and AACC since 2007. I am playing in Church Orchestra every Sunday As a Piano teacher as well as Cello teacher I am teaching very beginner to intermediate.
I have been teached since 2002 until now. I have experience working from age 5-60. Worked with students who prepared for Regional Orchestra, All Sate Orchestra, pre college for Juilliard , Mannes and Mahattan School of Music. Also teach for adults. Every Year I am getting a Student Concert. All of my Students play in the Concert as a Soloist. Sometimes I do join concerts so Students can have experiences play with other instruments such as trio or Quartet. Also Prepare students for international and national music competition such as ViVo, little Mozart, New York Music Competition etc.
I work with beginners book sting builder and Suzuki. Students who start need to learn how to take a Bow first so I work how to take a Bow most time and play each sting slowly one count note only low part of Bow then 2 count slowly until half bow and then 4 count while bow. Intermediate work with klengel scale book,lee Methods Suzuki 3-5 Working make good sound and practice sight reading a tenor clef. Advanced with Popper, several Concert and Sonatas. The goal is performance to be as a professional.
Beginner work how to take a Bow and how to use Bow in Cello. Left hand learning first with tape then take off tape to play listening intonation. Intermediate students work make good sound use bow slow and faster, contact bow differently and vibrato. To get better Vibrato work very slow vibrato to faster. For example play Scale, start Vibrato slowly 1 time to fast 4 time moving wrist. Let my students to record when they practice so they can listen and fix if figure out some mistakes. I love to see my student improve and that is only reason I love this job
