Overview:
I'm a passionate and motivated Instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2016,I graduated from Thee Alabama State University with a bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as musician, and I've had the opportunity to play in Japan with the Birmingham Youth Jazz Ensemble.I played for numerous Actor, professional Athletes, and also professional Musician.Music is my life and my love.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience dates back to my high School days,as I began teaching my peers lessons part time 13 years ago,and have been consistently teaching students at my home studio for the last 8 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of my key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the students progress and gain a passion for the instrument. Music is fun and enjoyable to me,thats why I love doing it well. I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages.
METHODS USED
Having Fun is my first method of music. For beginning students, I typically start with buzzing and humming and then start with My Creative Approach to Music Fundamentals,it is equally important that you experience the more creative aspects of music fundamentals, listening, Performing ,and composing activities from the start. This, after all, is the fun side of music; the part that makes all the studying practicing worthwhile. Musicians must practice; it's a fact of life. They do it every day.Almost no one is sufficiently talented to be able to skip this step.
LESSON STYLE
All of us know people who can play or sing extremely well, but who have a hard time explaining in words how they do what they do.I think everyone has some musical talent. All of us do. Acknowledge accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes Leader eager to learn more. I ask students what they want to accomplish and we both find out ways to successfully complete that. The intention in doing so is to give students as much flexibility as possible in choosing and customizing topics and to give students a ability to design their activities to meet their own individual needs.
