I have been teaching piano for over 25 years. It is truly my passion to introduce the wonderful world of music to children, since they are the future. I graduted from manhattan School of Music with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Piano Performance. I have performed all over the New York City area both as a soloist and chamber musician. I want to share all my musical knowledge to the future.
For more than 20 years I have been on the faculty of The Lawrence Eisman School for the Preparatory studies in Music at Queens College, the United Nations International School and taught privately as well. It is my duty as a teacher to make sure that all of my students continuously progress while fully enjoying every moment of it. I want them to really experience the joy and the magic of making, playing, and feeling music. Awakening the artisit within will help them in all aspects of life for the better and that for me is the ultimate gratification I could ever have, knowing that I have helped shape a person be the best they could be to make the world a better place.
I usually start off with Bastian Primer Book. Then I move on to the Faber&Faber Piano Adventures Series. In conjunction with this series, I will supplement with other pieces that I feel will inspire and challenge them. if the student requests a certain piece or style of piece they would like to work on, I definitely make sure to grant it to them. This only tells me that they are really having fun and is eager to learn more.
It's like planting a seed, nurturing it and watching it Blossom into the wonder that it truly is. Each Student for me is like this little work of art that keeps growing, developing and feeling, all through music, helping to be the best they can be in every way.
