I love music and I love working with students of all ages. I studied piano from the age of 4, played euphonium in school band, sang in choir, and graduated from Michigan State University with honors in 2005 with a degree in music education. My teaching has taken me from inner-city Chicago, to Bay City, to South Lyon MI. I am looking to spend more time teaching one-on-one, as I feel that creates the most positive experiences for student and teacher.
I have been teaching music for over 10 years, from classes as large as 50 to private lessons. I am looking to teach more private lessons. My job is to evaluate where you are at and take you to the next level on your chosen instrument. The most rewarding part of teaching is getting to know students - what they are interested in, what they like to do, etc. I find the lessons go a lot better when that connection is there.
I create my own custom lessons based on whatever your needs are.
As mentioned, I like to get to know students in order to tailor instruction to them. I try to adapt my teaching style to what suits you best and what is going to lead to the most success for you.
