I'm a young musician who came to the United States from Russia to pursue a career in music. Currently I'm working on my degree in music performance at Fresno Pacific University. I also write my own music and am working on my debut album. Music is a really important part of my life and that's why I want to teach anyone who is interested in learning and understanding music. I strongly believe that everyone can play music no matter what age or skill level you are, I know that you can do it if you will be dedicated enough.
I've been teaching for around 2 and a half years. I started by just teaching my friends and one summer I was given the opportunity to teach at the United Conservatory Of Music. After I decided that I would like to start my own private studio. I always welcome new students of all ages, I have taught kids as young as 4 years old and also worked with people who are older than 60. It's important for me to give my students a unique learning experience, I often recommend different songs and live recordings of famous performers to aid in teaching and make the experience more full.
It's really important for me to teach music in a way that people can maintain interest and enjoy learning. With any instrument, music theory, ear training and music analysis is my focus, I think these skills will build a strong foundation for beginners that will serve them well down the road. Also another essential part of my method is teaching correct technique which will help students practice in more a effective and enjoyable way! Also, choosing correct music for students that is tailored to their preferences is a great way to keep students engaged and better their experience.
I like to encourage my students using of examples of famous musicians that have always inspired me. Also,I believe that understanding and open communication between teacher and student is one of the keys to success! I think it is important for students ask me questions when they not really sure about something so that they go home being able to practice and understand better. I am a firm believer that practice will always make you better in pretty much any aspect of your life. Also, I believe that making mistakes is completely natural and I always make sure to be patient with all my students, as we know without making mistakes we can't fully learn the material and progress.
