I have been playing saxophone for 16 years, and got both of my bachlor and master degree in classical saxophone performance. I have had a lot of performing experience during these years. Now i am working on my first doctoral degree in University of North Texas, being a student of Dr. Eric Nestler.
I have been giving private classs as a part time job since the first year of my college life. Most of my students are in beginner level, from which i gained precious experience and patience. As time went on, i found myself increasingly coming to love teaching, because i believe i can learn more about saxophone from my students.
For beginning students i usually recommend KJOS Tradition of Excellence book for alto sax. For intermediate and advanced level students, i used to introduce appropriate solo repertoire.
I used to set realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
Quan is an excellent instructor. Once my lessons have been completed, I would like to continue with more lessons with Quan.
