Bachelor Degree: Berklee College of Music
I really love working with students and having that ‘I get it now!’ moment. I’ve studied with vocal coaches myself since I was nine years old. Vocal health is a huge part of my practice. Our voices are very delicate and should get the most caring treatment as we use our lovely built-in instruments! I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2020 and am so grateful to study with some of the best teachers. I always sang musical theatre, jazz, r&b, and powerhouse pop and love to go outside the box in those genres as well!
I’m a music lover who has enjoyed learning more about my passion since I was nine years old. When I was 16 I started singing competitions and my own band that played gigs up and down the East Coast! I went to Berklee Valencia for a semester where I studied Bossa Nova and Flamingo music. I’ve won various singing competitions where you change a song that’s well known to make it something for You. I’ve worked years on learning my voice and phrases to make vowels and sounds sound their very best. I look forward to working with you!
For beginners I want to break down how the voice really works. Not everyone is taught how the vibrations in our throat and body impact how we hear from each other. Once we learn the human body I jump right into vocal exercises that show the vowel differences and easiest ways to sing notes that we all used to think were ‘too high’ or ‘too low.’ For students who want to get ready for a competition and/or audition, it’s important to lock in those phrases to a T and place dynamics in a song that make your audience go, ‘wow!!’
It personally took me more than a minute for my ‘aha!’ moments. Every student is different and should be taught in the most positive ways. There’s no reason a student should feel rushed or down. We take singing lessons to learn ourselves and have fun mainly! I’m a very visual learner so I tend to teach using some wild visual tactics. I want to develop confidence in ourselves and a comfortability that makes us eventually not afraid to be goofy on stage or even by ourselves! The more comfortable we are loosening up our bodies and trying not to stand stiff, the more we relax and sing more openly!
