I am a dedicated vocal coach, musician, singer, songwriter and founder of Vocals on Stage. At the age of 6 I started playing Cello and discovered my passion for music but my main focus quickly became the instrument voice. I studied for years at the Unique Voice Studios - a private school for contemporary singing in Vienna and have studied Jazz vocals at the Schubert Conservatory in Vienna as well as with private vocal coaches and have been touring all over Europe and the United States.
Since 2006 I have been teaching vocals in music schools and for the last 5 years as private vocal coach in my home studio and in a second studio location. I have been teaching in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County and Austria and am very passionate about singing and vocal coaching. I want to share my experience and expertise with my students and help them develop their voice and become the best singers they can possibly be and most imporatantly have fun with it. I always encourage my students to participate in recitals, sing and play in bands, choir, musical theaters etc to explore as many genres as possible and experience different situations like recording in a studio and performing live. I teach "Mix" - a vocal technique which teaches students how to transition smoothly between chest voice and head voice and receive the full benefits of “both worlds”: the natural and powerful sound of the chest voice, and the beauty and range of the head voice.
During a lesson we will work on technical exercises which are actually really fun and then on a song which the student can choose. The student accompany him/herself on guitar or piano (in the studio) or I can accompany the student on the piano or we can play a backing track (instrumental version of a song). If you want me to accompany you, please bring a lead sheet and/or lyrics of the song you want to work on. All lessons are recorded and given to the student to conveniently practice at home between each lesson.
Singing is something very personal and especially in the beginning, it is important to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere for the student so that their vocal cords can relax and connect easily. I encourage my students to practice daily to train the muscle memory and with some very easy but effective exercises, practicing actually doesn't feel like practicing because it's fun and the improvement will be amazing! At my studio, all of our teachers are university-level trained and experienced teachers and musicians.
