Overview:
I am a talented music educator who empowers students with the tools they need to become ambassadors of knowledge and valuable members of society. I am passionate about music and I am commited to maintaining up-to-date knowledge in the field. I am a musician who is engaging and enthusiastic in hands-on learning with students. I have had a lot of joyful moments musically whether it was from the marching band or the concert band in school, and I would like to share the things that will give others the same joy.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience dates back to my high school days. I taught private lessons to students at the middle school I attended so they would be prepared for what they'd have to do once they got to our level. As a senior in high school I aided the drumline at another local high school that had just opened. At the present time I am teaching musicians of all ages, ranging from the age of 6 to elderly adult. Before graduating from college, my passion for and knowledge of percussion created an opportunity for me to work for the North Forest Community All-Star Band Drumline and the North Forest High School Drumline. This position allowed me to teach the drumline and instill the discipline and tools needed to win competitions. I have worked with all kinds of students from all walks of life.
METHODS USED
For beginning students I start all the way at the beginning with the basics of percussion, from the way to hold the sticks and mallets, to how to read music. After the student grasps the fundamentals I introduce solo pieces to build a repertoire so that they may grow their musical knowledge and become a better musician. For adults I like to find out what they are interested in and build my lesson plan around that idea. I try to provide musical enjoyment the best way i can while simultaneously educating the student. I take them in what ever the desired direction is.
LESSON STYLE
I strive to provide students with the tools needed to master musical skills. I also strive to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient. It is very rewarding to see a student of mine excel in their musical endeavors. Every student may learn at their own pace but I build them all up so that the end result is the same: musical mastery. I strongly believe that repetition and practice is the key to great success and i use that belief to make sure that the material is learned as well as retained.

So far, we have enjoyed Ralph's instruction. My daughter is taking beginner drum lessons and he is systematically teaching her technique, music reading, and syncopation.
