I graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory with a Master's Degree as concert performer and teacher as well as received a diploma with the highest distinction as a concert performer and teacher for violin .While I studied at Yerevan State Conservatory,I was the first violinist of the Chamber Orchestra of Yerevan State Conservatory as well as the first violinist of Yerevan State Conservatory's Quartet.I then continued my Postgraduate Studies at Yerevan State Conservatory.I also received a Certificate from the International Academy D'Art Musical in Paris,France. In the International Festival "Semaines Musicales de Tours" I received the 1st Prize in 2000 and 2001.I have also received a number of diplomas from International Violin Competition in Italy,Poland,Finland and Switzerland.
My teaching experience dates back to my college days,as I began teaching private lessons 17 years ago,and have been consistently teaching students in my home or students home for the last 17 years.Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for students,as it tends to help the students progress and gain a passion for the instrument.I have also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the violin and motivate to practice and continue to learn.
For beginning students who are children,I am using classic methods from Leopold Auer school that produced many notable virtuoso violinist like Jascha Heifetz,Mischa Elman,Nathan Milstein.Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals,I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults,I try to find out what the student is interested in,and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun,no matter their ability level
Nothing is more rewarding that seeing as many as possible of my students develop a passion for music!!! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace . I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson .Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and make students eager to learn more . By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs..............
GREAT TEACHER and Concern performer!!!!
Great teacher, great personality. Will definitely recommend.
Excellent performer! Very talented musician, as well as an experienced teacher! Richard is very knowledgeable, patient and creative!!!
I have been very lucky to have found a teacher as talented as Richard. He is exceptionally kind and patient and teaching is his passion. He’s absolutely the BEST teacher I have ever met. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
When I was first introduced to the violin, I was completely confused on what to do and how to do it. Everything from the handling of the bow to the fingerings to the simple notes, I had no idea what to do. When I found Richard, his credentials completely astounded me. I was taken aback at how such a skilled violinist was available to beginning violinists. After a few classes, I began to get a solid holding of how to play the violin. I would highly recommend him to other beginners who are confused on how how to play!
I had a great lesson and learned so much on the first day. Definitely somebody I'm going to be sticking to and someone I highly recommend!
My son loves Richard and I have seen so much progress through his playing already in a very short period of time! Great person to work with and an amazing violinist.
