EXPERIENCE

I have taught lessons for over 20 years on and off.

At Full Sail University in Winter Park (Orlando) Florida, Repp has deigned and taught the course Musical Theory and Education Applications in the Educational Media Design and Technology Master of Science degree program, and also taught Music and Audio for Instructional Design in the Instructional Design and Technology program. He has also taught Music Theory I and Digital Literacy courses. At Georgia Southern University, Repp developed the Master of Music in Music Technology Degree and undergraduate degrees and certificates in music technology. He maintained the recording studio, Music Computer-assisted Instruction Lab, and Electronic/Digital Music Studios. While at Terra State College in Ohio, Repp implemented a new college music program, centering the degrees on music technology. He developed a Masters of Music degree with an emphasis in Music Technology, and a BS in Information Technology with a second discipline of Music Technology at Georgia Southern University.
METHODS USED

I use the McClosky Technique for vocal relxation when teaching voice. This is a hands on method stressing easy singing and designed not to damage voices. On guitar I stress music theory and basic technique to allow the student to develop his or her own style.

LESSON STYLE

We work hard in lessons to develop you as the best possible musician you can be. Music is a holistic experience that develops the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously.

I support on use the following techniques to encourage student learning. 1. The student should be fully engaged in the process. Organizational processes and details of the learning process develop through the student with examples and guidance from the teacher. 2. I teach the student how to think, not what to think. I do not assume students will pick up procedures on their own, but emphasize learning development rather than facts. 3. The learning process is reflective. I encourage students to review not only materials, but a holistic understanding of the material and its applications. 4. Students have some control over their learning. Student choice of topics and assignments within the curriculum engender a more motivated learning environment.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
