Overview:
I'm passionate about giving the student the best information to improve their love and skill for the Arts. I make it fun thru techniques applied from manny years of experience in teaching and performing. I'm dual certified in New York and New Jersey and have made music a major part of my life (I met my wife at Music College.) I have taught in many settings and places to acomadate the learning situation. If that might be soli or group lessons. I can teach a few different instruments and I try to parallel my teaching styles to incorporate the essentials.
EXPERIENCE
I'm passionate about music education and teaching in a fun and systematic approach I have been teaching for over twenty years and gave experience with all levels and ages. I am dual certified in both New York and New Jersey in teaching music.Have taught Musical theatre for children as a created my own Musical Revue. I have played in a percussion pit for an orchestra so I have been able to be involved in large .array of different settings and abilities. Which I feel has helped me to assess and fulfill the lesson objectives.
METHODS USED
I use a Bastein method series as well as Alfred Method series always understood a grading picture from pre A to book H also use technique and theory books to make a well rounded education in understanding and performing on the piano. Hannon as well as some other books would be used. as well as i use bel canto technique for singing which is controlling the vocal cords the alignment and how they work also extensive training on vowel placement and positioning of vocal chords thru singing in particular at the break in vocal range.
LESSON STYLE
I covered a little of this in previous paragraphs but I utilize the students ability to learn without the instrument in hand and utilize themselves as the instrument. One example of this is I tea h them to mark time with their feet and subdivide the best into qurters,eighths, etc... and then test them thru aural rhythmic dictation. Also with little children I work into the lesson movement thru pitch high and low and show SOUND thru spatial relationships. Lastly I incorporate the voice in all facites of the lesson.
