I am self taught, and have high levels of experience in the fields I teach. I feel there are some things that a school can not teach you. I am more than capable of teaching my instrument.
My greatest achievements include being asked to play on a few large named bands for studio work.
I have been playing bass for the greater part of 15 years. I have a passion for teaching and a passion for playing my instrument and music as a whole. I have been privilliaged and honored of having several equipment endorsments ofer the years. I am also a Paramedic and a Veteran.
My experiance: Multiple US tours with several bands, and studio work. I have played several types and genres of music including: Rock, Punk, Country, Hip Hop, Metal, Christian, Electronica and Ambient. I have experiance teaching children and adults alike. I also teach my own 2 children. I am also a certified repair technician for guitars and bass.
I typically start with making sure a student knows his instrument first. What it is, all the diffedrent parts and how they work. I will usually start by asking what the student wants to learn and get out of lessons. Since not all students are the same it is really up to them. I teach the bare bone basics, since that is the foundation. I usually start with having a student become familiar with the basics of notes, what makes them sound they way they do, and haw to make the best use of them. I also teach tone. This is very important and often over looked.
My teaching style is very laid back yet structured. Music is fun and is taught that way!!! I use various methods for different students because everyone learns different. There is no "Best" way to teach.
