My name is Riclebio S. I am a music teacher and a cello performer with an extensive experience in classical and praising worship music. Back in Brazil I attended the Federal University of Paraiba where I got my undergraduate degree with concentration in Music Education and Cello Performance. In 2016 I was awarded a scholarship from the Nicholls State University and studied cello and chamber music. Later, in 2021, I graduated with a master’s degree in music from Louisiana State University and started my happy journey as a music teacher at Sacred Heart of Jesus School.
I began to tech private lessons back in 2015 in Brazil, and continued here in the United States. Before that, however, I gained most of my teaching experience tutoring group guitar lessons. My students will have the proper development by learning music and their respect instrument from the basis. The importance of practicing on a regular basis will always be reminded and encourage, as part of their development process. I am committed to help my students in the best possible way to achieve discipline and success in music.
For beginning cello students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki method elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. For guitar students, I usually apply my lessons accordingly with their genre of interest. To keep the practicing routine consistent while enjoyable.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I believe that if the students feel inspired, they can always achieve more!
