Overview:
I'm a professional, patient, full-time musician.  I've been performing for over 30 years, and teaching music privately for over 10 years.  As a teacher, my primary goal is to pass on love of music by helping my students learn whichever instrument they choose.
EXPERIENCE
I've been teaching since 2005:  Privately with students in their home or my studio, with brick-and-mortar studios, and with online lessons services (like Musika).  It's most important that my students have fun learning their instrument, but I also emphasize daily practice and work on the fundamentals of whichever instrument he or she is learning.  After all, if you don't work on the fundamentals, then you won't be able to play your instrument any better.  And if you're not getting better -- and able to play the songs you want -- then you're not having fun!  I can also help with skills like reading music, performance, expression, and songwriting.
METHODS USED
For all students, I teach them exercises to strenghten their fundamentals and skills in the given instrument, and each lesson we practice the exercises to focus on improving their sound production, pitch finding, placement, and more.  We also learn songs that both the student and I choose and prepare for performance (when necessary).  Here are the books I work from for each instrument, but please note that I don't necessarily use these for every student, only when appropriate: GUITAR:  Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method (books 1 through 3) VOICE:  Master Vocal Exercises by Horatio Connell, and Sightsinging (Hal Leonard) BASS GUITAR:  Bass Method, (Hal Leonard, books 1 through 3) TRUMPET:  Essential Elements 2000, (Hal Leonard, books 1 through 3)
LESSON STYLE
I believe that music is a way for people to express themselves on a deep, energetic level; that it is Life expressing through us as well, and that it is an essential part of Life itself.  My goal is to help each student not only learn the mechanics and fundamentals of their instrument, but to also be INSPIRED by the music they're making and sometimes creating.  I want it to be a source of joy in their life!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.

Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
