I've had over 17 years of teaching experience in guitar for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students, 9 years of teaching experience in piano for beginners and intermediate students, and 4 years of teaching experience inBass guitar for beginner students.  I demonstrate technique of performing, lend tips on how to correct mistakes, and show how to further their experience while developing his or her own style.  I'm very encouraging, always emphasizing a positive and productive approach to learning.  I like to guide each student into the directions and styles that he or she wants to learn, while allowing them to set reasonable and realistic goals.  Overall, the enjoyment of teaching and having other students learn, achieve, and accomplish their goals on their instrument is what makes it all worthwhile.

I teach out of instructional books, notably books by Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, and Alfred. Sometimes, I use sheet music print outs, and draft up my own exercises.  I go back in forth in a non-conventional manner, adapting accordingly to the student's needs.  I like to incorporate exercises and warm ups to improve and enchance technique.  I also teach songs that the student would like to learn.  I'm very patient and rarely rigid in my approach, although I do stick to a general routine that allows a focused approach to learning. Enjoying oneself while learning along the way makes it all run smoothly, and makes it a fun challenge to learn.
