Flute instructor at OSU CAP series for more than nine years. Rodolfo Vázquez is a flute student of the celebrated Sir James Galway. Certificate of paticipation and performance at the Sir James International flute masterclass Weggis Suitzerland 2009. Best Latino flutist Prize in Ohio in 2014.

Overview:
Rodolfo Vázquez, flutist, is former professor of flute at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes and principal flute with the Orquesta Filarmónica del Conservatorio Nacional de Música  both in México City and the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Guanajuato in Guanajuato, México. He has been touring as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles in the U.S., México, England and Switzerland. Rodolfo is music director of Vázquez & Ferguson (Silver & Spruce) and El Cálido Viento. He has been awarded three times by the Ohio Arts Council and eleven  times by the Greater Columbus Arts Council for CD recordings of Latin American, classical, original music and for chamber music recitals in Franklin County, OH USA. He has studied with the world renowned Irish flutist Sir James Galway who wrote of Rodolfo: “Your music is charming and beautifully played.”In August 2006 and then again in August 2008 he participated in the Sir James Galway International Flute Masterclass in Interlaken and Weggis, Switzerland performing with the Sir James Galway Flute Choir both  times. This August 2008 the class was made possible through a Marc Rich Scholarship from Switzerland. Sir James commented in January 2007: “The class in Interlaken was the best I have ever heard as a teacher or performer and your wonderful playing is still a very vivid memory.”  Rodolfo has also performed as a first flute with the Galway Flute Festival Flute Choir at the Sir James Galway Flute Festival in the University UGA in Athens, GA in June 2014. Mr. Vázquez has been awarded with the 2014 Ohio Latino Award as an art leader for his flute work in the state of Ohio. Rodolfo is founder of the No Strings Attached Chamber Music Society and chairman of the Ohio Hispanic Fine Arts Association. This organization promotes Latino arts in Ohio. He taught flute at the Ohio State University CAP program for nine years and has been flutist-in-residence at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio for thirteen years. Mr. Vázquez has perform Latino music for over twenty years for schools in central with the Greater Columbus Arts Council Artist-in-Schools program. Rodolfo has played for Ted Strickland, Bob Taft, Alessandro Siciliani, Jesús Lopez-Cobos, Joan Rivers, Lady Jeanne Galway, Leslie and Abigail Wexner, Goeffrey Gilbert, Alain Marion, Michael Emmerson, Elena Duran and Ray Hanley. EXPERIENCE
Forty three of experince teaching at college level, begginers, intermediate and advance students at places such as the National Conservatory of Music in México City and the Ohio State University CAP Program and his private studio. I have been teaching flute at all levels and music theory solfeggio for more than forty three years. For every problem you might have I know two or three different solutions. Extensive pedagogical experience in classical, jazz, Latin, American song book, blues and improvisation.
METHODS USED
Ohio schools marching band's method. French Method Altes, Taffanel & Gaubert and Marcel Moyse methods such the Sonorite, Games and Arpeggios. Petite Etudes, Daily Exercises, Andersen, Moyse, Bohem, Koehler, Vazquez etudes. Special Original etudes For band written by R. Vazquez for flute band students with special emphasis two the middle and high registers of the flute with extensive exercises for 2nds, 3rds, 4ths, 5ths, 6s, 7ths and octave intervals and all mayor, minor, dominant, diminished and augmented triads and chords.

Trying your first note, working on existing skills to improving on tone, technique and music you will be able to advance at your own pace in an encouraging and inspiring atmosphere. Private lessons. One student per lessons.
