Overview:
Music is the world’s universal language and I believe everyone should be able to enjoy it. I graduated from North Middlesex Regional Highschool in 2010, shortly thereafter, I jumped into the music industry by playing shows across the country, doing session and fill-in work for other musicians, and expanding my horizons. Along the way, I’ve taken lessons from greats like Mike Mangini(Extreme, Steve Vai, and Dream Theater) and Thomas Pridgen(The Mars Volta, Destiny’s Child, etc.) In 2016, I joined Philadelphia based Progressive Metal band, Kaonashi. Since then, we have recorded 2 albums, completed multiple tours across the US, music videos and so on.
EXPERIENCE
While in highschool, I started my teaching career by working in an after-school program teaching elementary and middle school students to help them hone their skills to perform in the school bands. Shortly after highschool, I started working as an instructor at the Pepperell Music Center teaching Drums and Guitar, as well as taking on private students at home. I’m always pushing to help my students achieve their goals and to gain confidence not only in their playing, but in themselves. Playing and teaching music has given me a sense of purpose and happiness, that I hope all my students can find within their instrument as well.
METHODS USED
For students who are just starting out, especially children or teenagers, I like to start with the building blocks of playing the Snare Drum to ensure they create good habits while approaching any song or solo. My band director from school always use to say “If you can play it on the snare drum, you can play it on the drumset.” For older students, teenagers to adults, I like to grasp the students interests and aid them in the direction they want to excel in. Whether you want to play The Beatles or Metallica or Gene Krupa and so on, I can assist you on where you want to go!
LESSON STYLE
My goal as a teacher, is to help my students reach their goals and find a love for music that they can create themselves! It’s important to realize that not everyone learns the same way, so I am always trying new approaches to help my students push themselves to the next level! The most important part, at the end of the day, is having fun with music and your instrument. Some lessons may be challenging, and some may not, but I try to have my students leaving every lesson inspired to achieve their goals and excited to play the drums when they get home! (Sorry parents!)
