I have been exposed to both Suzuki and traditional styles of teaching and can be flexible with both very young, beginning students as well as older more advanced players. I have also worked with many young violin students and am able to teach early violin, viola and piano methods and technique.
In terms of my basic teaching style I think of myself as teaching technique and basics, in addition to scales etc., through the music. I find that this not only helps students become enthusiastic about their instrument and music, but also helps one break through technical strides without losing gumption with robotic technical exercises.
