I am a determined, passionate, and motivated instructor who loves sharing my joy music with students. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music from Louisiana Tech University. Now I am studying Music Business at University of Miami. I performed in many different operas such as Cosi Fan Tutti and Amahl and the Midnight Visitors. I also performed in many talents singing R&B, and doing gospel concerts in the surrounding local churches.
My teach experiences started back in my undergraduate career. I began teaching private voice lessons part time to students at certain ages in my home studio for 3 and half years. One of my key points is a consistent schedule for students to practice so they can progress and gain the love for singing like I did. I also like teaching a collaboration of classical, r&b, and pop music to help the students gain interest in music. The main goal is for the student to HAVE FUN! FUN is the key! The students are encourage highly to enter competitions and reciatls, so they can feel accomplished and stay motivated to learn. I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages!
For beginning students, we work on breathing and different warm up techniques. Once the student has progressed we will then start solo repertories for different genres. For adults, I try to research what insterest the student has in signing and guide my instruction towards the interest of the student so it can be fun.
I believe it is important for the student to progress at his/her own pace. I set goals that students can succeed for each lesson. I also believe rewarding the students accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to develop and progress in music.
