Overview:
My name is Samuel and I am an Ohio born guitarist who emigrated to Los Angeles in 2008 to attend the Guitar Institute of Technology. I have already been playing for years, and studying with GIT teachers such as Jeff Marshall, Daniel Gilbert, Dale Turner and Allen Hinds. At the same time, I performed in jam bands. I also played in the original band, The Moog. My quest to learn more on the instrument, and grow musically is what led me to Hollywood, California's GIT. I have already acquired some amount of skill at scales, arps, technique, etc, but have never had the opportunity to put it all together in other stylistic situations, especially jazz, and the upcoming Fusion, styles. The years of GIT was a mind bending musical, and life altering experience for me. Interacting with the incredible teachers, visiting Pro players, as well as great players in my class such as Ken stiger, Jamie Findlay, Jennifer Batten, and Steve Vai led to a real leap in experience and playing ability. In the meantime, Club gigs, and original projects continued. My musical tastes and chops are diverse, but I am always striving to be musical, soulful, expressive, creative, and grooving.
