I am a hardworking and passionate instructor who wants to instill this into my students. I graduated from University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music with a degree in Acoustical Engineering, concentration in Trumpet in 2017. I graduated as the valedictorian of my class. I have played in many places across the state of CT and have had many opportunities to perform and learn from many incredible instructors. From these opportunities, I have been able to develop many styles of teaching, which allows me to teach whatever my students will want/need to learn. From blues, to pop, pit music and more!
My teaching experience begins back in High School when I was the leader of the brass section of my high schools marching band. I needed to help my fellow students succeed. I have also had many opportunities to help Dolan Middle School in their parades over the years. From these experiences, I am able to fix all types of instruments as well as I’m able to give advice on how to fix sound and play different types of brass instruments. I love being able to help students who are beginners start their musical journey or help advance students continue.
For my beginning students, I have them start with KJOS Standards Of Excellence. Once they have began to learn the techniques to properly play, I will begin them with repitoire that I find suitable for them to play and also what they would like to learn so this way the students are learning what they want, which makes the music learning process even more enjoyable! By making a individual lesson plan it allows my students to be able to advance at their own pace and also have the students learn their instruments even better.
Teaching music is such an incredible thing for me. Seeing my students learn new music, is truly incredible for me. I base all my lessons on the individual student. I make a plan with my students that allows me to tailor each lesson to their needs. I enjoy making sure students can see their true potential while also making sure they can advance. I believe that any student is able to make their dreams a reality when they put hard work into it. No matter what the dream might be. With music, I am able to show my students that they are able to do anything they can set their minds to with hard work and dedication.
