Overview:
I am a diligent and motivated musician, performer and educator who enjoys working with a variey of students looking to grow in musicianship. In 2010, I graduated with my degrees in Music Education and Applied Voice from Indiana Wesleyan University.  During my undergraduate experience I had opportunities to perform throughout Europe, to hold the honor of student conductor of the Indiana Wesleyan University Chorale, to choregoraph stage productions including multiple operas and musicals and to premier the lead role in a new musical, Where Fortunes Lie. Since my schooling, I have had occasion to perform with Kathleen Battle, Ronan Tynan, Michele Ragusa and Mike McGowan, as well as sing under the batons of Dr. Todd Guy, Dr. Erin Freeman, Dr. JoAnn Falletta and Dr. Adam Luebke. My goal as a music educator is to encourage and develop my students' musical abilities and passions for performance.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching privately ten years ago and have had a varried studio with voice, violin and beginning piano students. I have had students ranging in age from three years to mature adult, all at very different levels of musical ability, and I have taught in the classroom in rural, urban and suburban settings.  From these experiences I have learned productive practicing is key, along with self-motivating strategies, to grow as a musician.  My studnts have fun while learning proper musical technique in student-tailored approaches.  I have had opportunities to create curriculum for beginning musician programs and therefore am apt to help grow a student to where he or she wants.  I focus on collaboration and on partnership to develop musically!
METHODS USED
My approach to lesson planning is based on the needs of the student, creating customized approaches to new musical concepts and techniques.  I focus on classical training that is age- and ability-appropriate.  I incorporate ear training and theory seamlessly into lessons to provide a well rounded music education.  My heart is truly in performance, and my goal as a music teacher is to work along with each student to meet his or her musical performance goals.  Each lesson is motivating, fun, challenging and worthwhile!
LESSON STYLE
My music studio is one that encourages collaboration, excellent technique and quality musicianship at every level and ability.  I work with each student to set realistic goals so I can tailor lessons to guide him or her to achieve those goals.  It is important to discover what inspires the student, so he or she and I can work together to grow musically. We will celebrate achievements together and stay focused on developing into people with a passion and love for music!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
