I am a 22 year old mother of a 3 almost 4 year old! I have been a stay at home mom since COVID began but would love to get back into lessons. I have given lessons for several years through my old schools orchestra! Violin is my top instrument. It’s where most of my performances came from. Although I also play/have preformed guitar, violin, ukulele, (& fiddling ;) I started guitar at 6, violin/piano at 9, and ukulele at 12. I have picked up several other instruments along the way just by ear and for fun! I love to work with kids but don’t mind adults as well!:)
I began teaching private lessons in high school for a side income. I took several music theory classes and am fluent in reading all types of music (bass, treble, alto) I also have an ear for music. I can play anything if I’ve even just heard it once. I love encouraging young kids to have music as a healthy hobby/outlet. It is also a way for them achieve many goals in the future! Music has always been a passion of mine. When I was born I had fluid on my lungs so I hummed and they called me “singing Sarah” anytime they brought me to my mom. Music always has and always will be a huge part of my life. And I want to pass that gift along. (Even my three year old has her own violin ;)
I can teach multiple styles and ways depending on the student! I have several methods I use as well. I use the watching and listening method, or the reading and following music. Which ever the student is interested in! I have taught multiple children and have my repertoire of what is age appropriate and when. Along with my separate repertoire for adults which I have also taught! You are never ever to old to pick up an instrument and who knows you may even have a knack for it! My styles can adapt dependent on the student! My biggest goal is that you are enjoying what we do:) f
My teaching style as I stated before varies depending on the student but I try to follow the same beginning steps for those who are just picking up an instrument! Compared to those who are a little more of seasoned players! I love watching my students succeed and I feel as I encourage this by helping them set realistic goals and helping them achieve them! I try to often locate what inspires my students as that can vary depending on the person! Afterwards I can successfully fix my instruction to fit their wants and needs.
