Hello All:
My name is Sarah. Classically trained violinist and pianist who loves working with students of all ages. I obtain a Master's in Music for violin Perfomance from the University of Miami. Violin has been my instrument for 26 years and piano, 23. I recently taught as an orchestral director in Miami-Dade public schools . Experiences include elementary to high school students. I have taught privately and in groups as well for many years. Excited to welcome new students here in Jacksonville !!
Overall, I have been teaching for over 12 years. I have experience teaching chamber ensembles, orchestra, technique classes, and preparing students all over for auditions and state competitions. I also like to arrange studio recitals when I feel the student has made progress to keep them motivated!! My main goal is to keep my music lessons interesting and exciting as well as accomplishing the music goal for all of my students. Welcoming students of all ages and levels (beginner to intermediate)!
Just a couple of methods I use below:
Bastien Piano Series
Suzuki Method
Maia Bang Techniques
Hrmaly
I am not officially set to one method and am pretty flexible towards the students’ wants and needs. Each student learns differently and at their own pace. At the first lessons I feel it is important to understand the interest of the student and continue instruction based on that. Keeping my students engaged is of utmost importance. Students will learn how to read notes and understand music theory.
Each student is different. By monitoring the students' interest, I encourage them to set a goal of practice for the month, and each month that goal time increases little by little. Understanding how to read music and music theory are very important when learning any instrument. Student will be able to play any and all kinds of music if note reading has been taught. Each lesson I set a goal for the following week which is always easy to accomplish with practice. Practice makes permanent!!!!!!!!!
Sarah is an incredible instructor! She is patient and focused with all of her students. My son raved about his lessons and the new techniques he learned through her instruction. He took Piano lessons, until we moved out of state. He enjoyed the stress free environment at her personal studio. She is professional and personable. It shows that she encourages her students to do their best. I highly recommend giving her a call.
Ms. Sarah is absolutely wonderful. She taught my daughter piano and she is very inspiring. She has a natural, gentle way of teaching, and makes learning fun and exciting. She takes time to know her students and guide them accordingly without being overwhelming or regimented. I've seen her teach students and they loves her immensely. My daughter would willing practice and couldn't wait to go for her lessons. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
Mrs. Sarah W. is an excellent teacher, and having learned from her in both a private and group setting, I can personally attest to the effectiveness of her methods. She is kind and patient in demeanor and possesses a firm - but never oppressive- approach. She is incredibly knowledgeable of her craft and finely detailed in her explanations. What I would like to highlight above all, however, is how she takes it upon herself to understand her students as individuals, tailoring her methods to best match their style of learning. She not only educates, but endows a deep appreciation and interest for music in pursuit of personal growth.
