I feel that creating a freestyle/open studio environment with the ability to diversify their talents into different areas is true to what makes music what it is. Setting goals and tracking progress are essential to learning an instrument. I will work with the student to set goals for each lesson and show them great ways to track their progress as they practice throughout the week. Lessons are very highly structured and focused on helping the students grow as much as possible. My primary focus is students in the high school age, so I mainly use a student-focused teaching style. I want my students to have a say in what we're doing, as well as allow them to practice analyzing the music themselves rather than telling them what to see.
