My methods of teaching change with each student. All individuals learn differently. I start by seeing where each individual is and how they react to the material. We first learn basics and move as fast as the individual can or wants to. I want all my students to play pieces by themselves and with others (not just the same instruments). I like to spend a few minutes getting to know my students, and I always want to set the environment of learning to be as relaxed as possible. I make sure to only teach within the students' expectations, never mine, as students need room to grow at their own pace. Once I get to know what goals the students have, I can then set timelines and implement plans to help every student meet their goals. Read More
