I was invited to be an instructor in 2008 and started after I completed my first pedagogy class in Suzuki Violin with the Jonesboro Suzuki Institute in Arkansas in August of 2010. I am currently teaching both children and adults virtually as they all live more than 100 miles away. These three students have been with me for more than 5 years, including 1 adult. I started teaching lessons in high school to other students. I've been teaching privately for nearly 20 years now. I have worked for public and private schools teaching music lessons and ensemble groups. I was a graduate teaching assistant during my masters degree and taught technique and etude lessons weekly to undergraduate flute students. My methods come from a large literature that not only includes American pedagogies but many other European and Russian ones. However, I don't think of my students as subjects to this knowledge, but as shapers and creators of unspoken literature, one that speaks and connects with them. Given the fact that everyone's physiology and psychology are unique, I can only create a very unique approach and method for every particular student. Read More
