For piano students I usually use Piano Adventures method books while supplementing with scales, pop and classical repertoire, theory, ear training, history and more. For ukulele and guitar we focus on strumming patterns, rhythm, chords, and repertoire anywhere from rock or pop to classical. We would do short listening exercises to work on our inner ear, a structure as complex and parallel to that of the conscious, if you cannot listen to it in your mind/inner ear you're very unlikely to play it. Therefore, although I am very focused on early master of the instrument mechanics, I am fascinated to explore sound beyond violin, classical music, or even out of this planet !
