Well hello yet again. Ok, well I guess I covered most of this in the previous sections. Anyway.... In the previous section I covered most of what I can say in this one. These are real lessons, not jam sessions or monkey see monkey do. There are assignments given to be worked on before the next lesson. The first thing I do when teaching a student is to learn what musical goals and aspirations the student may have. Then, depending on age and experience, I build a custom program for the student, which may include using various books, resources, and even materials which I have created. I have found that this is not only the most effective way for me to teach but also the most effective way to connect with students where they are and for them to learn at their own pace while also enjoying the process. I can take on any student of any experience level, from beginner to advanced, young and wise. I love working with kids, and I am great with helping anyone overcome stage fright and develop confidence. One of the qualities I admire of those who have taught me is their approachability and acceptance. I am supportive and encouraging, and I love being able to watch my students grow into powerful artists! I am open to anything and everything that you want to work on. Read More

Depending on the instrument and skill levels of the student I have different methods. For guitarists I typically like to start by learning techniques and building strength in their fingers before we move into theoretical concepts. For pianists I begin with technique but with also teaching them the musical staff and getting them started with reading music. Ultimately my method depends on the individual needs of the student. The lesson is always aimed at having the most fun as possible, all while learning and expanding our musical knowledge. Read More

I like starting with the song approach. Learning a song you love is a fun process that will keep you motivated to keep learning more. I have a way of simplifying songs so anyone can start playing guitar within a few lessons. I also have a very patient teaching method that my students appreciate. I do refer to a few books by Hal Leonard or Alfred to get the students on the right track. Read More
