For piano students, I like to use Alfred's piano methods. I find that their methods for both kids and adults not only covers the basic fundamentals of music, but they are also able to make everything comprehensive and enjoyable. For guitar, I like to use Hal Leonard's basic guitar book for students focusing on popular music and basic guitar, and for classical guitar I like to use the Christopher Parkening Method. Read More

For me, nothing is more rewarding, than to see my students follow and pursue their dreams. I believe that all students are able to carry their dreams out to the fullest as long as they put a little hard work and dedication. I enjoy bringing this to the classroom because it shows my students they are able to do anything that they put their heart and soul into. I encourage my students to work on their own pace by practicing as often as possible, while still challenging my student as much as possible. Read More

I believe all students should be encouraged to be creative, while still maintaining a strong emphasis on fundamentals, thus leading to the creation of their unique musical style. I generally tend to split the lessons up into warm up techniques, repertoire, sight reading, listening/dictation, discussing music the student likes/wants to learn, and improvisation and songwriting. I like to supplement this with music they might be working on in a school ensemble, or if they have a favorite song they would like to learn, as well as with scale studies and long tones. Read More
