I have been a music teacher since 1972, teaching classroom music, as well as being a Choir and Band Director, in Vernon, Glastonbury and West Hartford. Especially popular were my guitar and music of the theater classes. I am a motivated instruction who loves passing on to students the enjoyment of music and the skills neccessary to perform. I have been bass trombonist with the National Orchestra in Lima, Peru; and I am currently bass trombonist in the World Civic Orchestra, the American Chamber Orchestra, the St. Thomas Orchestra and the Collegium Westchester; as well as several Swing Big Bands, including the Sonny Caroll Orchestra, and the Fairfield Counts. I have been named finalist for the Eastern Trombone Workshop, the Big 12 Trombone Conference, the Texas State Trombone Symposium, and has won the “Woods/Kone” and Concerto Competition at Texas State University. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
