I am a fun loving and dedicated music instructor that draws my passion for teaching from a true love for music. I recently graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BA in Management, and I completed the Joel A. Katz Music Entertainment Business Program in 2018. For beginner kids, I typically use the Liela Fletcher Lesson Book series. I find that my students usually progress faster with this series. For teens and adult beginners, I use the James Bastien "Older Beginner Series or John Thompson series to get them started. One of my main jobs after graduating The Institute of Production and Recording was teaching music lessons. Since 2011 I've taught drums and piano lessons for various companies from ages 3-40. To see a student who has a serious passion for music grow from not knowing anything about the piano or drums to making music is probably one of the most fulfilling feelings I could have. At the age of 17, I flew to Hollywood, CA to attend Musicians Institute where I studied Bass Guitar Performance. Learning from and playing with some of the best musicians in the business was amazing. I left school to hit the road with my first professional band. I spent the next 20+ years writing, recording and touring all over the country. I was lucky enough to be in a few bands that landed indie recording contracts, which allowed me to tour nationally doing original music, with songs I had written being played on radio and on TV shows across the country. I'm relatively new in the teaching game; however, I've had a number of students over the past few years. They seem to enjoy the lessons that I bring and have all progressed into wonderful players. I prefer to teach from the genre that the students like, but I definitely try and get them to branch out in order to learn new techniques.
