Ive been singing since I was a kid, spending my earliest years stomping around in the rainy weather of Seattle Washington, singing at the top of my lungs (yes, my theme song was Singing in the Rain). I was always singing in school and church choirs and started taking lessons privately at age 14, continuing to do so for over a decade. My background as a singer is primarily in performing musical theater, but my fascination and knowledge of how adaptable the voice isnt limited to the one genre! Read More

Each student will work at his or her own pace. I will help the students set goals for the week, a month, and a year. We will then reflect on where we are at that time. The student and I will be working together to find out how they can be successful. I will find out the students likes through lessons and work to expand their thoughts. Every student is at a different level in their musical abilities. What I find most important in teaching voice is that the students are able to find joy in what they are singing. Students are able to learn music more easily when they find something to connect to, whether it be a tuneful melody or funny lyrics in a song, or the way a sound is made in an aria or ballad.
