For beginning students, I use standard method books, including Moyse, Taffanel-Gaubert, Rubank, and Suzuki. Once the student has demonstrated a sufficient grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce repertoire, always gauging their level so that I can provide them with a challenging and rewarding experience. For adults and intermediate to advanced flutists, I try to get sense for the student's level and how they are interested in growing, and tailor my methods and repertoire selections to that. My teaching experiences dates back to my college days, I began to teach in private music institution in Taiwan, and I also taught saxophone sectionals from elementary school to high school band in Taiwan. Although I am a jazz player, I have many experiences on teaching marching band and concert band saxophone. I first started teaching piano and flute/piccolo back when I was in high school. When I started, I mainly focused on helping my fellow students prepare for performances and competitions. When I was in college, I was offered a temporary teaching position to teach piano at Allegro Music Academy (Lemont, IL) and I was able to work with children of all ages and playing levels. I realized that I really enjoyed working with children and from that point on, I sought out to teach mainly children. Read More

I have been teaching for about 8 years now. I am well skilled in classical, romantic, Latin, experimental, baroque, and modern music. Ive performed across the globe, in places such as New York, Walt Disney World, Honolulu, Italy, and Spain. I have performed with many different groups over the years, including, but not limited to: the Chicago Cosmopolitan Orchestra, the Riojas Duo, Summer Music in Tuscany Chamber Players, and on some of the worlds most famous stages, the Schermerhorn Symphony center, the Chicago Symphony center, in the Auditorium Theater.
