I began to tech private lessons back in 2015 in Brazil, and continued here in the United States. Before that, however, I gained most of my teaching experience tutoring group guitar lessons. My students will have the proper development by learning music and their respect instrument from the basis. For beginning children students I typically start with Hal Leonard or a similar reputable music book.  Once the students has a grasp of the fundamentals we will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate to their age and skill level.  For adult students, I find out what the student is interested in and create a lesson plan that is fun and challenging no matter their skill level. I studied the Suzuki method as a youngster so I understand the importance of ear training and sight reading. Read More

For children who want to play violin and piano, I start with the suzuki method and try to find some music that they will identify with, like disney music or the soundtrack to frozen. For children who want to play guitar, I start by teaching them the essentials in person and giving them notes to practice from (Names of strings and chords, strumming patterns and music reading). Once they have progressed past the basics, we will find beginner jazz or rock or whatever instructional books are appropriate. Read More
