I was surprised, initially, at just how rewarding an experience this turned out to be. But soon I realized just how powerful an experience learning music can be, and how incredible the opportunity is to be able to help people through that experience in a fun and engaging way. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Over the years, I have come to understand that each individual has a different path to follow. Teaching in one specific way could help one student, but that same way could hamper another. For that reason, I create my teaching material after meeting my students. This was amplified by invaluable learning experiences at masterclasses with world class musicians such as Jaime Laredo, Stefan Jackiw, Mihaela Martin, Alvaro Parra, and David Coucheron. During the years of private studies, I participated in several local and international competitions and received a gold medal at the "Classival" International Competition (Canada, 2010), and 2nd Prize at the MMTA and Young Promise International Competitions (Boston, MA). While at NEC, I won a series of concerto competitions and made my orchestra debuts with the NEC Youth Philharmonic, Waltham Philharmonic, Nashua Chamber, Concord Symphony, and Belmont High School orchestras.
