I began teaching about 7 years ago as a part time way of making a little bit of extra money while in school and began teaching at middle and high schools in preparation for marching band and festival band competitions 5 years ago. I have toured with 3 different ensembles in a jazz medium, a classical medium, and as a brass quintet and have played in many side by side performances with young children up to high school, as well as performing with members of the New York Pops under direction of the world renowned conductor and composer Steven Reineke. I'm a band director with 25 years of experience who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. Clarinet is my primary instrument, and I feel comfortable teaching all levels of clarinet students. I feel comfortable teaching most other band instruments and piano up to an intermediate level, plus beginning drum set lessons. I listen carefully and ask questions, basing instruction on what creates success. My approach is to make learning fun.
