I began teaching private piano lessons part-time while in college at Louisiana Tech University. I soon found that teaching piano is where my true passion was. Since then, I have taught all ages and levels. While in graduate school at Samford University, I taught college students private lessons and group piano classes. I have a very classical approach to teaching. This means that I focus on mastery learning. I don't move a student to the next level without first seeing mastery of the skill being taught. I believe it is important that each student progress at their own pace, but I also believe in pushing towards difficult, but realistic goals.
