I have teacher training in Suzuki Violin and Cello; Dalcroze movement, solefege and improvisation in piano and have applied it to all disciplines; Paul Rolland strategies for violin playing; Aldo Parisot principles for cello playing; Austin Classical Guitar Institute, Albuquerque Guitar Chamber Ensemble and Summer Festival; and Ashtanga Yoga as well as having a degree in Music Education from Western Michigan University. I began teaching while working on my undergraduate degrees at CSU Northridge. I worked as an elementary school trumpet instructor. After graduating form CSUN I began teaching privately garnering much success with my students. For a time I worked as an orchestra conductor for the youth symphony west program running the advanced orchestra and intermediate string ensemble. I began teaching singing lessons as a youth mentor more than a decade ago. I helped these young people develop their voices and performance skills, and supported them to perform songs in front of their school communities and families. I started teaching Balkan singing and percussion workshops with my band a decade ago. Around the same time, I was involved in a program that developed trainings and curricula for group and individual musical facilitation for individuals in hospice, inter-generational community ensembles in nursing care communities, and people with memory loss.
