Method books from world-renown artists and educators provide inspiration for my lesson plans. I often equate mastering music to mastering a foreign language; fluency resulting in mastery of vocabulary and communication. I started my life as a percussionist in 5th grade. Once I hit high school, I knew music was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. When faced with a new student I always ask them what type of music they are into and what are they interested in learning and how that type of music makes them feel.
