I began giving private lessons in 2003, and have taught in my own studio since 2010. I have taught group percussion to elementary -aged students and worked with a high school band and percussion ensemble. I have also been a music teacher in the OKC public schools, working with PK through 6th grade. I am certified by the Oklahoma Department of Education in instrumental music for PK-12. Music has always been a passion for me. I'm motivated to work with students and show them how music can transform them as a person and musician. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelors in Instrumental Music Education and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance. Performing in different types of ensembles throughout the years has given me versatility as a precussionist in many different styles, such as marching band, classical, musical theatre, latin jazz and hip-hop. I have various methods of teaching, all tailored to each students' strengths. However, all students will learn to be musicians and by becoming one, students will develop their personal styles and unique musical signature all while being coached in proper musical training.
