I am a passionate musician "from the womb". I've sang since I was 4-years-old and began official training in school at 11-years-old. I started playing the violin just the year before that. I graduated with a worship leadership degree free Visible Music College in Memphis, Tennessee in 2020. I began lessons for piano my senior year of high school, and I continued training for about 2 years during in college. I base my teaching methods on the student I am teaching. For students that are children at a beginner level, I typically begin with the essential elements of creating vocal foundation which I draw from many sources. Once we have set a good foundation, we tend to begin working on repertoire that is appropriate for the level at which they are singing, using those songs as learning opportunities. For adults, I begin by asking about the goals of the individual student and I then formulate a strategy to help the student reach their specific singing goals. Read More

I have been teaching on and off since 2016. People would ask me for spontaneous lessons and I would meet them either in their home. Most of my lessons were on vocals or piano. During this time I would also teach trombone lessons after school. My lessons are always energetic and entertaining. I always try to keep them engaged by setting an achievable goals for them for that lesson. If a student doesn't have milestones that they have reached, then it decreases engagement and motivation. Assessing the students age, interests, needs, and culture will contribute to the creation of their lessons. I also find that knowing the students levels and vocal ranges can also be helpful in creating lessons for the students. I am an avid listener as well as player. I perform as a solo guitarist specializing in Celtic and American acoustic music. I also work as an accompanist on a variety of instrument (mandolin, dulcimer, banjo, guitar) for singer-songwriters. You can catch my band Harper Valley Hypocrites performing locally. Our material cover Dylan to Zevon as well as some great original tunes.
