My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 3 years. Lessons and master class performances throughout the nation with such artists as Ian Clarke, Jim Walker, Leone Buyse and more have given me a range of professional viewpoints and inspired my teaching and performance. Hello, I am a saxophonist, composer, educator and multi-instrumentalist. I began playing the saxophone at age 12 and from the moment I first touched the horn, I was hooked. After becoming more familiar with the jazz language, I quickly became further immersed in the jazz scene back home in Dallas. I typically begin my young students in the Suzuki Method for Flute, inwhich I have received the training for this method. For older students, I begin them in the Trvor Wye Method for Beginning Flute Students. I supplement both these methods with solos appropriate for their level and goals, such as UIL and other competitions. I am a music educator, performer, and recording artist with more than 40 years of experience. I studied classical music at The Peabody Consevatory of Music and Jazz at Berklee College of Music. I have studied with and taken private lessons from many great musicians. I have performed with and opened for numerous national acts such as James Brown, Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Chick Corea, The Rippingtons, and many more.
