Music has been a passion of mine from age 6. I got my start playing the piano with friends trying to figure out the music from Super Mario 64. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven't picked up an instrument of some kind. It's been a goal of mine to learn as many instruments as possible throughout my life and focus on the instruments I love. I create custom lessons for each student in my studio. Its important to me that students feel they are progressions towards their goals and I prioritize that in my lesson planning. I typically give students 2 or 3 songs to practice at a time, and I always include a classical or folk art song, and a musical theater song. It is important to me that students enjoy the songs they sing and I involve them in choosing the songs they are assigned. Read More

I approach teaching with an empty canvas. As i ask questions and listen to responses, we begin to paint that canvas until we have the same metaphorical picture. Once this is established we can build more and more from that initial canvas. I take my time to guide my students into a hands on approach to learning. I do NOT force students to do something they are uncomfortable with, and If the issue ever comes up I will urge my student, chaperone or parent the speak up! Read More

I began teaching at Roy High in 2019. I spent 3 years there with the marching band and moved on to Ogden High in 2021. I completed my second fall season with Ogden and look forward to many more.
