I like to play along with the students because I want them to hear what more experienced players sound like too. For beginning students I use the Essential Elements, or Standard of Excellence band methods. If a student is also involved in a school band program, I am happy to help them with school assignments. Once the student has gotten a handle of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce supplemental repertoire in line with students interest to further support and engage my students.
