I do insist that each student practice one to two hours a day based on what they are taught. This includes, but is not limited to finger exercises, drills, posture and any thing that will make playing better for them. I try to encourage them to have fun while learning, this keeps them more interested in continuing with their desire to learn. Read More

I've been a musician since the age of 6. Music has been such a big part of my life and I hope to share that passion for music with others. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance in violin and harp with a minor in piano. While my approach might be considered conservatory oriented, I also believe that music can be approached in a fun, yet serious, manner, allowing beginning students to explore their personal need for musical self expression without compromising the serious effort necessary to achieving a student's musical goals. Quite often this involves using various method books along with creating the right supplemental materials for their level of ability.
