I've been playing a variety of instruments since I first taught myself a few tunes on the piano at the age of 8. I settled on clarinet as my primary in 2004 and have picked up saxophone, flute, and guitar since then. I have received formal training on each instrument along with a fair amount of self instruction. As a performer, I have played in various settings ranging from a soloist in front of an orchestra to a guitarist in a blues and rock band! Read More

I have been able to bring students of all ages and levels of music and learning ability forward. Read More

Flexibility and the ability to adapt are very important as students need these principles for life in general. This is another reason why teaching improvisation is important as it keeps the mind agile. Further methods include using as many senses at the same so the mind more easily consolidates information from practice. Read More

My first teaching experience came in the summer of 2008, when I served as the Music Director at Camp Robin Rogers in Spencerville, Ohio, a program serving children with developmental disabilities. This wonderful experience reaffirmed my belief that anyone, regardless of age or ability, can learn to make music. Watching my students' faces light up as they performed the songs I taught them was one of the greatest joys I have ever experienced. Read More
