I have been teaching in a variety of contexts since my time at Whitworth University, where I started as a Teacher's Assistant for several Music Theory and Ear Training courses. There, I developed skills for leading group study sessions as well as doing individual tutoring. I also developed rehearsal technique while coordinating and rehearsing various chamber ensemble groups for the purpose of performing my original compositions. My first memories of teaching goesback to middle school when I would tutor the younger students in my classes! My love for teaching grew and throughout my college and post-college experience I taught clarinet lessons, music theory and appreciation to students of all ages. From working with Pre-K children through older adults, I make each lesson personal and an experience for each student.
